Our Mission

Oakland Park Main Street strives to be the catalyst in creating cultural and economic vitality for Downtown Oakland Park.

The vision is to promote a commercial center that has a unique character with a vibrant mix of culture, retail and service business and residences.

Public and performing art, interactive educational programs and regional exhibits will enhance the quality of life and showcase downtown Oakland Park as a compelling destination.

Oakland Park Main Street, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation with tax-exempt status under IRC 501(c)(3).
Our Approach

Oakland Park Main Street focuses on development in four areas to create a positive, distinctive image and economic success for downtown Oakland Park:

  1. Organization development including member, volunteer and sponsorship recruitment through presentations to home owner associations, community organizations and businesses throughout the city and county
  2. Promotion and marketing of the downtown area and its business community by building traffic through special events and improving the image of the downtown district
  3. Design assistance by acting as a design resource for property owners relating to facade improvement, and by promoting a consistent, high-quality image in signs, advertisement and other graphic materials
  4. Economic redevelopment by helping existing businesses expand, recruiting new businesses to provide a balanced mix and converting unused space into productive property

The Vision of downtown Oakland Park Main Street’s program combines the development of a traditional commercial center that has a unique, Floridian character with a vibrant, contemporary mix of retail and service businesses. Culture, art, entertainment, outdoor dining, and community parks in a beautiful, safe, and friendly environment will enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors of all ages.
